He won the 1st prize in the first Jazz-Vibes Competition 2017 in Pescara and the Public Prize at the French Jazz competition “Tonnerre de Jazz 2024. In 2025 he published his critically acclaimed debut album “El Sueño”, which he’ll be presenting for the first time in London at PizzaExpress Live alongside London-based singer Aitzi Cofre Real.
Lucas Dorado was born in Biel/Bienne (Switzerland) and got to know and play Latin American rhythms as a young child through his father. After studying drums & percussion, he finally focused exclusively on vibraphone. He has been active since 2012 and has performed in various countries in Europe, South America and Africa. To that he had the pleasure of playing in internationally renowned venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, New Morning Paris and Nja'Nja M'ndzang Cameroon. He can be heard on several jazz/latin/pop albums such as Parcels (Because Music 2018), MetaMadera (Sound Surveyor 2024) or El Sueño (L’Horizon Violet Paris 2025).
